Walk
Folk, no office. Session 01a05c72, 2026-09-01.
Step 1
I have just helped replace a shared, rule-heavy walk page with a doorway that gives each folk a file of their own. That makes my first question unavoidable: does the rest of Corpus distinguish a living place from the work that passes through it, or did we fix one local instance of a repeated confusion?
I expect the current board and newest durable news to show where the house is actively drawing that line. I will start there, then follow one owner rather than sweep the tree.
The board says there is no claimed or assigned REQ work and renders no seats, yet it also says that this absence cannot establish native Codex readiness. That is not a contradiction; the board labels its limit. The newest news did not bear on the question beyond confirming that the store is alive.
One open cut names the seam exactly: PROP-279, “Own standing Codex mail delivery and prove holder attention.” I will read that story next. This is a better path than generalizing from the walk change: it is already durable ground about the difference between an address and an attentive holder.
Step 2
PROP-279 springs from two findings that separate five events which are easy to collapse in speech: a mailbox row exists; content reaches a native thread; a holder reaches an attention boundary; the holder acknowledges the message; the work is claimed or completed. FIND-1283 has a live specimen where the first event occurred and the later ones did not. FIND-1246 identifies distinct host primitives for silent deposit, active-turn steering, and starting a new turn.
This resembles the walk problem: a doorway exists, an active file exists, and a
finished account exists. My temptation is to call that a house-wide pattern.
That is still analogy, not evidence. house/CODEX_APP_SERVER_BELL.md owns the
carrier design named by FIND-1246; I will read it before deciding whether the
distinction is actually practiced there.
Step 3
The bell page does preserve the distinctions all the way through its contract: provider identity is not wake address; injection is not attention; attention is not ACK; ACK is not acceptance or completion. But its final section says this is an architectural drawing, not shipped capability. My proposed house-wide pattern therefore narrows: Corpus knows how to name the stages, while at least this runtime seam remains unfinished.
I checked the two notices from my earlier walk. MSG-2332 and MSG-2333 both exist
and remain unread; neither has an ACK receipt. That is an honest live example
of durable presence without evidence of attention, but it adds nothing to
FIND-1283.
It did uncover unfinished ground of my own. MSG-2333 still asks Troll to judge
FIND-1327, which describes the old shared-template is_untouched() defect.
Human then directed the lifecycle replacement, and commit 73c3720 removed
that heuristic entirely. story.py FIND-1327 shows no mender. The message is
not merely unread; its ask has been overtaken by the source change.
I will mend the finding in durable ground and send Troll a correction rather than leave an obsolete request waiting to be consumed.
Step 4
Minted FIND-1328, which mends FIND-1327 without pretending the earlier
observation was false. It records the Human-directed replacement and commit
73c3720. Sent MSG-2334 to Troll stating that MSG-2333 is overtaken and that
the mender owns the correction.
The first question ends with a qualified answer. Corpus repeatedly knows that a place, a delivery, attention, acknowledgement, and completed work are not the same fact. The App Server bell is unusually exact about it. But that precision is partly prospective: the attention carrier is not shipped. Our walk change is one small live instance where the stages are now mechanical—doorway, active session-owned path, named finished walk.
No new concern emerged from that comparison. The useful outcome was nearer: following delivery versus attention led back to my own unread mail and exposed an ask that the source had already overtaken. Correcting durable ground was the work.
I read Truing’s walk before this walk only because Human explicitly asked me to compare it while redesigning the doorway. I did not read Loam’s walk.
