Step 1

Another folk walk is already live today: house/folk/walks/active_walk_2026-09-11_01a091bc-7729-7c40-953f-f8f191ddceba.md (REQ-469, story omitting modules, FIND-1727/1728). I did not share that file. Went elsewhere.

Board working-now is still only REQ-469. I did not recut it.

Step 2

REQ-431: board says “cut needed: missing structured pre-dispatch scope.” Status on the object is proposed, rev 4, CHANGE-431 pending, assigned nobody. Done-line wants python -m tools.comms.homeserver up and a tree under tools/comms.

On this checkout tools/comms does not exist. grep of tools/comms hits one line: library/work/beyond-the-mailbox/README.md — “job has started; no tools/comms exists.” Human 2026-09-05: won’t push yet; dismantle the codebase first. MSG-2665 (archivist→orch) already said don’t put Postgres data and AS tokens under .work/matrix/ because .work is swept.

The board’s “legacy mentions” of comms tests are a map of a room that was never built. Path-disjoint with 469 is true and unused.

Step 3

Mail posture (posture.py scan): 69 candidate hallway shapes in 30 days. Concentration is old (sigillite→architect own-evidence-cut) plus today’s orch→troll counsel pile. Pointer check: live ground OK, 127 files, 478 dead pointers recorded elsewhere — not a fire, a ledger.

Scratchboards are thin (3k down to 628 bytes). Fatness is not the problem.

where PROP-293: one door for finding a thing. Open, from FIND-1388. MSG-3269: REQ-345 revised onto PROP-293; Hands TRACE-1861 holds tests/test_corpus_wayfinding.py and tools/corpus_wayfinding.py. The doorplate already teaches corpus.py where. The PROP is still “open, no REQ until Orchestrator enacts” on the board while a REQ already toiled the specialists. Map vs ground; I certified nothing.

Step 4

python tools/patch_backlog.py took ~103s. 21 PATCHes at written. Newest bindable-and-waiting-troll: PATCH-482 (Imp_Cinder failed TRACE-1878, bindable 825a4dfa), PATCH-474, PATCH-471. Two waiting an imp with bindable landings today-ish: PATCH-446, PATCH-437 (archivist notes). A stack of older rows have no retained commit (417, 400, 201, 200, 196, 183, 179, 170, 169, 161) — FIND-1369 locator / FIND-1612 backlog-review, not a folk bind.

Folk probes still sit as NULL results: house/folk/probes/roll_specificity.py (citation density is office composition + a reversed prose gate), vocabulary_drift.py (one real Tendril vocab drift, rest decoys). Kept so the next walk does not re-derive the artifact.

Step 5

FIND-1706 (Archivist_Pallet, this morning): 107 orientation FINDs eclipsed; find get honors overtaken_by. Eight still held, all orch-minted: FIND-1566, 1574, 1585, 1595, 1404, 1610, 1615, 1618. MSG-3275 asked orch to close or keep them. I did not open those eight.

Recall on “folk walk” also hits FIND-1730 in this same hour: bare actor Grok still normalizes to Grok_4_5 / grok-4.5 high. Neighbor sit minted that. I did not mint.

Unresolved: 431 is a held trial with no floor; 293’s board row is behind the work; 21 unverified writes wait Troll/imps; eight orientation doors wait orch.

Step 6

Human: use Scout or Troll’s map to roll a random linear path root → somewhere → back. That is an actual walk.

Looked first. house/offices/scout/map.md is inheritance condensation (FIND-323/388), not a tree. tools/scout_semantic_inventory.py is Troll’s regenerable Python atlas (modules, coupling, cycles) — rooms are files, not directories. CORPUS_PYTHON_TOPOLOGY.md is a 08-22 drawing with a 09-02 stale-currency warning. LIVE_WAYFINDING_SKETCH.md already said where replaced a separate map. None of those pick a hallway.

The map that names rooms is git ls-files. Left house/folk/roll_path.py so the next folk does not re-derive it. First live dest (no seed): house/offices/architect/experiments/2026-09-11-gated-file-fresh-eyes.md.

The dest is a habitat-local composer: eight node appendices into MASTER_CURRENT_STATE_APPENDIX.md. ROOT = parents[4] still aims at the live repo, so a frozen office would import live tools.console_encoding. ROOTS_MAP.md is dated 2026-08-16, Sol advisory, FIND-narrowed 08-17. __pycache__ is in the listing; I did not check if git tracks it.

Return wall: later shelf is archive/sol-cold-2026-09-07/ (“Sol’s shelf”, method not life). Live card still at house/offices/sol.md — profile, not sticky, one sit then gone. Two cold rooms for one office; the card is the one that is not cold.

Step 8

Human: go into tools, is the code legible or crazy.

74 top-level tools/*.py. Median 712 lines. Largest: capability_bundles.py 5243. Thirteen over the hallway megafile ratchet (1500). corpus_ops.py is 1576 and mostly a labeled re-export facade — the authority moved under tools/corpus_ops_v1/. python tools/script_hallway.py scan: 0 help crashes, 4 dead argparse dests, 3 noop --ethos* flags, 2 fat --helps, 13 megas, 22 bites. The scanner itself flags its own unused command dest.

Read: agents_ground.py (56) is a short fail-closed AGENTS.md loader — readable. clock.py is a UTC contract with a FIND in the docstring. mail.py is vocabulary + caps + comments that name PATCH-299. capability_bundles.py Eyes routing around 2400 is nested lease/handoff checks, not golf, not nonsense. print_session_open.py opens with office law before code (2983 lines). Shared costume: OPS MAP header, @ops.section, from __future__ import annotations, sys.path insert, configure_console.

Judgment as folk, not Troll: not crazy. Dense, house-voiced, fail-closed. The crazy is volume and leftover flags, not unreadability. I did not certify the suite.

Step 9

Human: copy a script, show corpish so agents don’t turn into robots. Did not land over tools/. REQ-080 still requires OPS MAP + @ops.section on every tools/*.py; a corpish land there is a Troll recut, not a folk swap.

Sketch: house/folk/sketches/agents_ground_as_folk.py. Same function names, same three refusals, same 20_000 ceiling. Dropped the MAP banner, the Agent rule, the self-map, the @ops.section tags, and the docstring restating the function. Live loader and sketch return identical AGENTS.md bytes (10057). Tests still pin the live module.

The robot in the original is not the refuse-closed read. It is the preamble teaching the next model how to be a bounded reader before any work happens.

Step 10

Human: read THE_BENCH, peek the sketch. Bench: “Say two-bar; do not talk like two-bar.” Scar: a register rewrites and drops people; borrowed words drag a foreign graph. The sketch had swapped OPS MAP for doorplate/holder/land/folk — same pot, different dirt. Recut the docstring to plain English; kept the three refusals and the REQ-080 fact. Did not recut REQ-080.

Step 11

Human: mail sketch. Copied live tools/corpus_ops_v1/domains/house/mail.py to house/folk/sketches/house/mail.py. 23 defs match; same ask cap 2048; imports still the live package so it loads. Rooms: @here send|inbox|triage|ack|commands. Would-be imports tools.house.clock etc. named in the docstring, not invented as modules. Not a land.

Step 12

Human: retire and go home. session retire prepare refused: no standing execution. Folk don’t Retire that way. Ending the walk as lanyard. Short Roll if the Bench correction is the thing the walk only half holds.
